Many of these young people continued to visit their mentors when they returned home from college, and they never left the house hungry. This program allowed Marge and Cris to share their business acumen with the future generation of leaders in business. Marge and Cris loved working with Somerset Berkley High School students in the DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) program. The Myricks Project still remains to be completed, but if it comes even close to what Marge envisioned, it will be celebrated for years to come. Most recently she raised $200,000 for the “Myricks Project” - a project that shows Marge’s vision, tenacity and forward-thinking. Marge was an effective fund-raiser and grant writer. She and Cris attended Selectmen meetings, where they presented ideas and suggestions for the benefit of Berkley citizens. Marge served as a devoted, conscientious, and scrupulous secretary on many committees including the Garden Club, the Second Half, Berkley Historical Commission, and the Friends of Bridge Village Park. Marge’s creative spirit is beautifully represented in many of Berkley’s landmarks, from the Berkley-Dighton Bridge to the Bridge Village Park at 70 Elm Street. Throughout her life, she was connecting, coordinating, and creating. Marge was an energetic force in this world. They were received with open arms and lavished with hospitality, warmth, and fine dining. For many of her artists, Marge was more than an agent she was their 'Mom.' Even after Marge and Cris sold their agency in 2002, artists continued to visit. Through their agency, Marge and Cris made sure that students in Berkley and beyond experienced the best arts programming in the world. Ghilarducci artists needed to be commercially viable, but more importantly, they had to live up to Marge’s exceptionally high standard of what world-class art is or should be. Marge and Cris were extremely selective in choosing artists to represent their agency. From this original seed, grew the prestigious Marge Ghilarducci Agency, representing performing artists on a national and international level and establishing “family entertainment” as a separate genre in the performing arts world. In 1984, she organized a group of proactive parents for the sole purpose of bringing renowned scientists, entrepreneurs and artists into Tom and Michael’s schools. It is no exaggeration to say that Marge leaves her distinguished mark, not only in Berkley, but also throughout the world. In the early years of their marriage, they and their two sons, Tom and Michael, lived in Colorado and Maine before finally settling in Berkley, MA in 1973. She met Christopher Ghilarducci, the love of her life, in 1966. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art, Marge became an art teacher and shared her skill and passion for art with hundreds of budding artists. She was the youngest of three daughters of Harry and Mollie Weinstein. Marjorie Weinstein was born in Dorchester, MA. Her husband and soulmate, Cris, was by her side, and an adoring circle of family, friends and caregivers kept in close touch with each other throughout.
